EasyCare Plans for 2008

The entire EasyCare team was in the office this past week, finalizing budgets, marketing plans and sales plans for the 2008 season.  We also discussed product improvements and estimated launch dates for our new boots.  There is some great stuff in the works! 

In the short term we are most excited about the changes to the gaiter on the Epic, Bare and Grip.  These gaiters are not ready yet but we believe they will be done before year end.  The gaiter improvements will allow for quicker application of each style of boot, will conform to the lower leg better, be lower profile and will have new materials.  We hope to have testing samples out to our new Team Easyboot members in the near future.

World's Largest Single Breed Horse Show!

The largest single breed horse show in the world is going on right now in Columbus, Ohio! The All American Quarter Horse Congress is much more than just another horse show. The show includes a number of special events in addition to its AQHA, NSBA, NRHA classes, including performances of the Professional Bull Riders Tour, its popular Freestyle Reining, educational Lecture and Demonstration series, Quarter Horse Racing, and the famous Million Dollar Stallion Avenue.  The show runs from October 6th - 28th where the show receives more than 16,000 horse show entries and will house more than 8,500 registered American Quarter Horses during its three-week schedule. The Congress attracts more than 650,000 people to the Columbus area, bringing more than $110 million to the central Ohio economy.  Best of luck to all the competitors.  Don't miss this amazing show!

Danielle's adventures continue!!

9/25: Danielle is enjoying her trip immensely. Her 3 horses realized that they are not going home anytime soon and are more relax now. Her 2 dogs are very happy to run and to be free. This month has been amazing for her. People are extremely nice and helpful. Maybe too much sometimes …. She slept on the front lawn of a hospital and enjoyed hospital food for breakfast and a warm shower. She slept in front of a monastery where monks took the vow of silence, she made sure her dogs were silent too. She had to cross barriers and rivers and roads and small freeways. She encountered a heavy rainstorm, and was lucky that 2 older men helped her to move her tent and all her stuff to the village’s barn and took cover there. One admirer tracked her down and offered her a pound of fine chocolate, offered by the chocolate master himself when he heard of Danielle’s journey. One lunch, she sat at a table of a small restaurant, and the whole village was there speaking with her. The restaurant owner invited her and gave all the leftovers for her dogs who were simply in dog heaven! Journalist are catching up with her, so more people are saying that they saw her in the local newspaper. She is now in the Lyon area, and continuing her journey towards Spain. The weather is still fairly good. Danielle is absolutely happy and one with herself as she was expecting to be.

We are selling more and more of our Sheer Comfort Sheepskin covers because of their high quality (proudly made in the USA, right at our Tucson office), and their great pricing. If you sell our sheeps, you may realize the need for exact measurements when your customers call to inquire about fit.  All of our covers come in black, brown or beige (natural), are excellent quality and add comfort for those long rides!  If you don't yet sell them, think about how you can package them along with the trail saddles, packs and hoof boots that already cater to your trail-riding customers.  Once your customers try these, they will love them!

Most of us at EasyCare welcome the cooler nights and shorter days. Tucson is beautiful this time of year, after spending the last four months with temperatures regularly in triple digits, it sure is nice to sleep with the windows open. We would also like to thank everybody that sent in photos for our 2008 EasyCare Calendar. We received a lot of great photos and are looking forward to handing them out at upcoming trade shows and events. We will also send them out with orders while supplies last. Endurance riders are continuing to prove how well our products work in extreme conditions. Our Marketing Manager, Karen Chaton, said "I just rode a five-day ride and then another two-day endurance ride (350 miles total) in some of the rockiest terrain I've ever ridden and was unable to break or wear out a single boot or part!" We will continue to upgrade and improve our products so that they will work better, longer, and harder for everyone. To date, 75 EasyCare Hoof Boot Contest riders have completed more than 16,000 miles in ride distances of 50 miles or more.

Danielle's Journey Across France with Easyboot Epics I am writing on behalf of my mother Danielle. She has been riding horses since she was a child. She is 61 years old. She has only one leg following an accident when she was 35 years old. She is now on a trip across France starting from Alsace, near Germany, and planning to go all the way to the Cathar country, Carcassone area, Spanish border, and back home. The trip will last about 9 months. She is traveling alone with her 3 horses and 2 dogs. Australia Struggles with Equine Influenza

As you may know, Australia is experiencing a serious outbreak of Equine Influenza.  Most hurt by the outbreak has been the racing industry and horse sales.
