Update on Granite Chief
7,000+ miles and still going!
Chief at Color Country

By Karen Chaton

I sure do like keeping all of my endurance horses barefoot. It sure has simplified things - no more shoeing schedule to worry about! It has also been so good for their overall health and well being. I use Easyboot Epics, Bares and regular Easyboots on Chief and my other horses. I boot all four of his feet for his endurance competitions. In the last year or so I started using the dome shaped Comfort Pads and found that to be a great combination especially on the really hard packed and rocky rides.

March Newsletter

EasyCare Boot Camp
Dealer Newsletter
March 2008
Dear Dealer,

Wow, we are already into March! I have noticed as I get older time seems to pass more quickly. Only a couple of weeks until spring (March 20th) which is a good time to check your current inventory, place an order and pick up some new items. Although EasyCare is known for our hoof boots, we also have some other great products as well; stirrups, stowaway packs and sheep skins saddle covers to mention a few. I am always surprised when I talk to a dealer, who has not picked up our top selling boot, the Easyboot Epic. The Epic has been out since 2005. We took a great boot in the Easyboot and made it better by removing the inside cleats and adding a gaiter. If you have not added the Epic to your line up, you should bring it in for spring. The results will speak for themselves!

Make sure you take the time to check out the Dealer Boot Camp blog. This is your blog, so if you have suggestions on what you would like to see, let us know. We update the blog four times a week, so make sure to check back often for educational information and some great sales found only on the blog.

It's not too late to join the 41 people in our $10,000 Hoof Boot Contest! With already more than 2500 miles ridden, we're kicking off 2008 to a great start. Enter the competition to win your share of the prizes. Click here to see the current list of results.

The Wild Horse, A Model for Trimming?
by Yvonne Welz of The Horse's Hoof
wildhorse

The wild horse model is often considered synonymous with natural hoof care and barefoot trimming-but is this always the case? We explore some comments and various points of view from some of the leaders in barefoot trimming today.

AANHCP founder and American's natural hoof care leader Jaime Jackson set the original standard of the wild horse model. Jackson writes, "At first thought, there is a tendency among many horse enthusiasts and professionals to reject the wild horse hoof as a model worthy of emulation. This is understandable. What business does a 'wild' hoof have being on a 'domestic' horse? More often I hear, 'What applies to wild horses doesn't apply to domestic horses, because domestic horses aren't wild and they don't live naturally...
