Getting Ready for Winter Riding

With winter just right around the corner - I know for some of you it seems like it is already here - it is time to think about winterizing your hoof boots. The EasyCare  studs are designed for durability and ultimate traction, and are great for riding on ice, mud or turf.   You can add our studs to any of our boots, (except the RX and soaker). At the Kentucky North American Championship ride our Swiss EasyCare distributor, HoofGroove added studs to the EasyCare Glue-on boots (see picture above) with a unique stud system developed for the grass and slippery conditions found in Switzerland.  The studs were a great success!  Sibylle Krieg of HoofGroove has a great deal of experience with studs and has been providing horses traction with her stud system for years. you can read more about that here.

Our studs now come in regular (3/4") and long (1"). For the bigger size boots (size 5 and up) you will need to install the longer studs due to increased sole thickness.

So don't let a little ice and snow stop  you - get out and ride!

If you live in Arizona or are planning a trip here this winter......come see us for a free boot fitting. We are here to help you with the correct fit and boot style for your horse. Just give us a call and set up an appointment and we will help you with a boot selection. Call us at 800-447-8836 or local 297-1900.

We have a portable panel area set up and you can unload and then we will measure and try boots on. Once we find the correct fit and style, we will then show you how to install and remove your boots AND then have you do the install/removal so you can be comfortable and knowledgeable when you are at home or on your ride.

Don't forget to bring your old boots to trade in and utilize the Upgrade program while you are purchasing boots from us.

" Just got back from 4 days of riding in the mountains of Virginia, at Mt. Rogers. Tried out the new Gloves on the hind feet of my horse and had my regular Epics on the front. Both styles worked wonderfully. We were riding in horrendous mud, as it had been raining, and terrible rocks, and the horses did great. My friend had regular Epics on her horse. I feel we really put the boots to the test with all the mud and rocks. Easyboot Gloves on the Wagon Train

 These pictures were sent in by Kelley Jo Locke, she and her dad, Danny have been riding for 16 years with the Mader Method Wagon Train.  Here's what they have to say about the EasyCare Glove.

"Check out Zoe in her kick'n new Glove boots!  We loved them.  They really kept those tiny rocks from invading her wall separation.  Of course my goal is to not have any wall separation at all, but until then the boots are a real life saver.  Some of the guys in the wagon train are really old school cowboys and they were all really watching these boots, seeing how long it took to boot her up, if they would even stay on, and if they rubbed her raw or caused her to trip at all.  I am very proud of my dad for being the first one not to have his mules and horses shod for the ride." 

We will be riding this Tuesday with the Hispanic Water Coalition in the "Walk for Water" from Mendota to San Luis Reservior and I will try to get Zoe with her boots on national TV!  Look for us...

Need a Boot Repair?

We at EasyCare know that some of those trails can get pretty rough so when the buckle on your Epic boot has seen it's last trail, the lace has snapped on your Boa boot or the gaiter on your Glove boot didn't survive that last really rough ride, don't despair!  We have a great boot repair department here at EasyCare.  Of course for the do it yourself customers, the replacement parts and accessories are all available on our website or by calling our customer service department at 1-800-447-8836.  Also on the  website if you click on "Tips" on each boot page you can find videos and instructions for almost every repair you may need.

For those who do not want to do the repair yourself  - or just don't have the time because you would rather be out riding - please call customer service and get a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before sending any repairs to EasyCare.  The cost for boot repair  is $6.00 per boot labor, the cost of any parts needed and shipping back to you.

Few Pictures from Tevis

Here are just a few of the pictures taken at Tevis. It was several busy days with the EasyCare team glueing boots on some of the race horses. All of our first time team members who attended were certainly amazed at how this event functions. They have a new found respect for horse, rider and event managers for putting on this great race. Kudos go out to our team members for all of their great help with assuring that  EasyCare   had a very successful presence at this year's race event.

 

  

  

Good News for Competitive Trail Riders!

The ACTHA (American Competitive Trail Horse Association)  has decided to allow hoof boots that come above the hairline on their rides!  This means riders can now use their Epics, Edges, Bares and Glove boots on these rides.  The NATRC (North American Trail Ride Conference)  still does not allow any type of protection above the hairline, but the ACTHA and a few smaller organizations are starting to allow them. 

Please check with the organization that is sanctioning your ride for the latest information.

EasyCare's president, Garrett Ford, will be on hand to help competitors fit, adjust and glue hoof boots on before the world famous 100-mile Tevis Cup Ride. Mr. Ford will arrive July 30th at Robie Park, and is taking appointments now for those who would like his help to ensure that their hoof boots are properly applied before the event. The ride starts on August 1.

the Tevis cup is the most famous of all endurance rides, and challenges even the best of riders. Numerous competitors will be riding in easyboot Gloves and Easyboot Glue-Ons over bare hooves including the 2007 winner, Jeremy Reynolds. While many riders have successfully competed at Tevis in hoof boots, EasyCare believes this will be the largest field of booted horses ever.

Fits Like A Glove

  Karen Reeves sent EasyCare  these great pics of  her Mule Rosa in her fit kit shells.  She should be our poster child for the fit! The Gloves, our latest new hoof  boot design will be a must for her!

Numerous requests have been sent to EasyCare for the Glove Boot which is a form fitting, seamless boot that hugs the hoof and responds like a natural foot. The material this boot is made of stretches over the hoof and clings to the wall so as for little or no debris to enter the boot when riding in such conditions as sand and mud. The boot has no external hardware which means no replacing of cables. Studs an be used and are available for winter riding. If you have a horse that overreaches these boots have a faster breakover and as mentioned no hardware to catch on the front heel if you are wearing them on the hind feet.  

The Glove must be carefully sized and fitted to the hoof. Measuring in milimeters will make for the best most precise fit. The width and length of the hoof must fall into the same size catagory. In addition, these boots are sold individually. Which ever choice of boots you make, hurry and place your orders and get ready for some great summer riding! Sweet Dreams

 

It  just doesn't get better than this! These are pictures of a newborn offspring of  Taskin, Gypsy Stallion, owned by Villa Vanners who resides in Oregon. Baby was born this past April and looks like he's real comfortable where he's at. The pictures were taken immediately after birth, the mare laid down, Baby trotted around and crawled right up into her lap. Mom and Baby are doing well and it won't be long before he's up and running around wanting hoof boots to sport around in. He'll be calling EasyCare wanting to know more about the line of boots available to him...which one will it be, hmmm... Epics, Bares, Boas, Gloves, Edges, Old Mac G1's or G2's ? Decisions, decisions..... Sleep well little one, see you on the trail one day...

Trails of Hope Ride with Gloves and Old Macs!

Here's a great shot of Sharon Dugan and her husband Buck at the recent Trails of Hope Ride at Gold Mine Trails in Wood, NC.  Three years ago Sharon's best friend Robyn's 5 year old daughter Ava was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.  This ride helps raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and medical expenses for little Ava.

The Power Straps for the Easyboot Glove boots can now be pre-ordered. You can choose from the many great colors that we are offering. You can use the colors to designate certain boots for certain horses.....or.....designate a color for which boot goes on which hoof. Or, you can just choose your color to match your other tack!

The straps will be very helpful to let you see your boots from the saddle. Because of the snug fit for the Gloves and Glue-Ons, sometimes it may be difficult to see the boots on a horse with dark legs. Now, you can add that splash of bright color and they will be more visible to you.

They will also allow a closer fit for improved boot performance.
