We get a bunch of questions about the differences between the Old Mac's original and the Old Mac's G2. People wonder what is a better choice for their horse.
Although the G2 has many improvements, the biggest difference between the original and the G2 is the shape. As a general rule the G2 is shaped for feet that are slightly longer than wide. The original is very round and accommodates a hoof that is equal in length and width.
When selecting an Old Mac's do not just select the G2 because it is new. Select the G2 if your horses feet are shaped for the boot. The Old Mac's original may be an older design but they are still superior when fitted on round feet.

You have possibly one of the most revolutionary horse items on the market. I always tell people when I introduce them to the benifits of your marvelous product that I believe in them so much I could sell them. I have managed to convert a lot of shod horse owners over to the Old Mac way of life. I have a Hanoverian/Quarter horse that is proven nacicular (by x-rays). If it wasn't for your product I believe that I would not have him any longer. All the vets and blacksmiths that I consulted with all recommended special shoeing and pads. However, after watching another friend with a horse in the same shape as my guy, loose the battle after numerous shoeing trials, I had the good fortune of being introduced to Old Mac's and upon it's use, I have never looked back. I am a big fan of barefoot horses, yet I do agree that there are times when a horse's feet need to be protected. With your product I am able to keep all of my horses protected, barefoot, sound and comfortable! Not to mention the fact, my navicular horse is still going strong. If it wasn't for your product I'm sure he would also, like my friend's horse, be buried in the back yard. On behalf of "Winston, my gang and myself, Thank you. I am thoroughly pleased with Old Macs.
