I spent my morning with Frank Rovelli and Frank Dugan from Vettec Hoof Care Products. They flew in from California to give me one last glue lesson before we launch our glue-on shell. EasyCare will be using Vettec adhesives with the new Easyboot Glue-On hoof boot.
We spent the morning looking over the first draft of the Easyboot Glue-On application guide as we fit a horse with glue-on shells. I wanted to make sure our instructions were solid and we weren't missing any important procedures. For the most part we were doing things correct. I have added a list of items that will be highlighted in the brochure after our visit.
1. Hoof preparation is everything. Fitting and application should be done on a clean dry surface. Hoof must be clean and dry.
2. Dry the hoof well with a heat gun in both wet and dry environments.
3. Purge a bit of material out of the glue cartridge before applying the mixing tip.
