Tip for using Epics

PlumbersputtyThis is something new that I've been trying recently with good success.  I bought a roll of plumbers putty at the hardware store.  I peel off a couple of inches at a time and stick it in the edges of the boots before I buckle them, and it causes a perfect seal around the edges.  This also works great on the Bares, tho you need to shove the putty in the cracks after the boot is on --when I use it with an Epic I can put it on the top edge of the boot before I put it on the horse.  In this photo I also had a comfort pad in the boot, they are working great.

I have been applying the two part epoxy system from the Soundhorse Sigafoos glueon shoe system to prevent or repair gouges from the easyboot gripper teeth.

hello!
dose the putty work just like the easyboot foam?
can you use the putty if you put vet rap on the hoof?

Hi Sabrina - the putty helps keep debris and dirt out of the boots whereas the foam helps to hold it on. It also keeps stuff out, but provides more in the way of cushion to the bottom of the foot as well as holds the boot on the hoof. Yes, you can use the putty if you vetwrap.

My epics boots don't fit snug around my horses hoofs. Is there an adjustment I can make or are these not the right boots. I have friends who have the same problem. Looking forward to your reply.
