On the video, when you screwed in the second side screw, it looked like you actually turned the screw driver the wrong direction from the way it would screw in the screw so the screw wasn't really screwed in properly and when you were done with fixing the shoe, on the that same side, the cable had been threaded around the side inner wheel so that it made a loop rather than just going around the wheel without making a loop.

Replacing cable: On your video the one side of the cable should have a twist when you are done. It does not. The washer that falls out is not replaced correctly . . . hope that I am right . . On the other hand, you succeeded in your sneaky plan . . I watched the video so many times that I think I could actually replace the cable myself . . . thanks . .

Left side of the boot, wire wasn't "crossed" at top, say around the screw
(right side is crossed)
When finished, cable isn't replaced up thru the "prongs/fork" at top of
buckle

Glad I watched the video -- I need to order about 5 cables and fix this pile
of boots!!

I would have separated the screws to make sure that they are put back in correct positions as well as use locktite to help keep them in place.
Thank you!

When you replaced the screw on the right side of the boot it looked like you weren't really screwing in the screw. You were using the screwdriver in the opposite direction to tighten it. Then when you showed the finished boot the left side of the boot the cable was not crossed whereas the right side was. Not sure if this matters or not, but the cables in the middle of the boot for the clamp to tighten the boot were not fitted over the prongs.

Hi Karen,
Are you aware that your post calendar in your side bar links to my blog entries? Very strange. Found it through technorati.

The cable on the right side of the boot was not rotated properly. All screws need to be double checked for tightness.

The cable is incorrectly routed on the boot's right side. There is an extra metal washer on the same side wedged between the strap and shoe wall that doesn't belong there.

The cable winds around the white pulley from the top on one side, but from the bottom on the other side. Also you didn't include instructions on how to clamp the replacement cable ends together before loading it into boot. Great video and very helpful, thank you.

it seems to me when I look at instructions that you just need to push out from under the buckle the attacment of the cable and cut the wire to remove it. than you run the wire properly and finish by putting the 2 ends together under the buckle and in the attacment and smack it with a hammer and with a flat screwdriver put it back under the buckle. no need to unscrew everything!
