A while ago I asked people to name the riders in this photo. A lot of people guessed, and some got it right, and some didn't.
Here is the list of riders, from left (green sweatshirt) to right:
1) Marily Woodhouse
2) Smokey Killen on Bandit
3) Tom Bowling
4) Trilby Pedersen
5) Les Carr
Can anybody name at least one of these riders? I'll post the names in a few days.
Here is a little info on that event, from the Easyboot page: In 1979, the British Post Office sponsored a
1,906 mile horse race over the entire Pony Express Trail from St. Joe,
Missouri., to Sacramento, California. Each contestant/rider was allowed
4 horses and had to ride the entire route. Over 60 miles per day for 31
days. Every contestant who completed this 1,906 mile horse race, used
Easyboots before the end.
Can anybody guess where these photos were taken? It is almost like riding the same horse as these two are full brothers and may be different colors but are a lot alike. This is also the first and only ride photo I have of Zenos so far. It's hard to get a good photo, either the horse is in a weird pose, or I look like a dork. lol
That particular section of trail is in the morning (before lunch), and before the Blue Fly Trail. For more phots of the Bryce Canyon ride, click here and here. This ride is one of my favorites and one that I'd have to rank in the top five of any ride that I've ever done.
Now, can anybody name where this photo is from? This photo was published in Endurance News.
Click to enlarge. Can anybody guess which endurance ride this photo was taken at, and which day of the ride?
I use google desktop, and love the sidebar and all of the gadgets that you can get for it. One of them rotates thru my collection of photos and displays them. I just happened to see this one, clicked on it and made it my desktop background. It's a great way to bring back the memories of all those rides without having to actually go look up the photos.
Note: This photo is from day 2 of the Bryce Canyon XP.
