Success in the Netherlands

Straight from the Netherlands, here is another great testimonial about Easyboots!!

In 2001 it became painfully clear that my Norwegian Fjord Horse mare (now 18 years old) couldn't bare iron shoes any longer than 3 times a year. With my ambition in endurance riding and her extremely bad quality, slow growing hooves, I had to think of something.  Easy Boots where not well known in the Netherlands but due to some enthusiastic stories of people I ordered two pairs and started trying them.

It was great! At first we struggled a bit but after a while we did hunting through extremely deep mud where horses with irons lost their shoes and my pony kept her Easyboots on. We did many endurance rides (up to 80 km) and many, many trainings and kilometers.  She walks great on her Easyboots and doesn't seem to mind them being on her hooves. During the summer time for six months I use irons and during winter time I use Easyboots.  My farrier who was not very fond of the idea of hoofshoes instead of irons is now extremely fond of it and even advises people to buy them.

In July 2005 I rode a 80 km night ride which was so stony we had to use the Easyboots over the iron shoes, without the Eeasyboots we wouldn't have managed to finish this really tough ride. Thank you so much for giving us this riding pleasure!  With out EasyCare my pony would not be able to walk so many kilometers and give us so much pleasure.

Original Easyboot verses 2005 version

From time to time we still get calls from customers and dealers regarding the changes in the 2005 Easyboot.

The optional Easyboot Gaiter attachment is the largest change for 2005. This new gaiter attachment is an accessory that can be added to all boots manufactured after January 2005. The Easyboot Gaiter is ideal for the barefoot horse, muddy conditions or for a horse who is difficult to keep booted. The Easyboot Gaiter can be purchased as an accessory for the Easyboot, or comes packaged and assembled on the Easyboot Epic.

The two vertical "folds" or gussets on the front of the boot (adjacent to the entry/exit holes for the cable) are now open, allowing the front and sides of the boot to flex for easier installation on the hoof and a better fit.

The side clips are now integrated with the inside back strap. Side cleat covers, to be optionally snapped over the face of the "teeth," are also included with each boot. When used, these covers reduce the aggressiveness of the Easyboot’s attachment to the hoof wall. This would be suitable when the hardness (moisture content) of your horse’s hoof wall is less than optimum.

The Easyboot buckle is now drilled to accept a locking pin. The buckle can now be locked into place after the boot is installed.

The inside-sole "nubs" are gone, allowing a more natural contact of the hoof’s sole to the surface of the boot.

Easyboot sizing has been fine-tuned. Be sure to measure the hoof and verify sizing from the new chart, before purchasing a 2005 Easyboot. Even if your horse has always worn a particular size in the past, this is an important step to take in ensuring a perfect fit.

Old Mac's Testimonial

Old Mac's rule!

My 18 year old Danish Warmblood Gelding Piano has had problems with brittle hooves for the last 10 years. Metal shoes seem to increase the problems as the outer hoof wall tends to brake off below the nails and he looses them easily. For years I wanted to turn him barefoot but I also wanted to keep riding him to keep him fit and healthy. That was not possible because he is very sore when ridden barefooted. After I discovered Old Mac's horse boots I finally turned him barefoot and his hooves have improved significantly. Wearing boots I am able to ride him everywhere I like and I no longer have to worry about lost shoes and sore feet. I believe that Old Mac's have saved my horse from a lot of pain and perhaps even early retirement and I am grateful to the man who invented these great boots. Old Mac's are not very well known in Denmark but I hope to change that by recommending them to every horse owner I know!

Shipping Options

Quite often we get calls and emails regarding our shipping options.  For international orders customers have the choices of Air Parcel Post, FedEx Economy and UPS International.  Air Parcel Post takes about 4-10 business days to reach the customer.  FedEx and UPS generally take 5-7 days, sometimes quicker!  The customer must remember that these times do not include any delays that may occur in customs. 

For customers within the United States your choices are FedEx 3 Day Saver, FedEx Ground Service, UPS 2nd Day, UPS Next Day and UPS Ground Service.  When calculating days, please note that these are business days, weekends are not included.  If you wish to have an order delivered on a Saturday, you will need to contact us directly.  Also please remember orders are shipped out within 48 hours of receipt of the order.

Boot Repairs

Occasionally customers find themselves with a boot that needs repair.  We ask that they contact us so that we can determine whether the item is under warranty, or if it can be repaired, and to get a Return Merchandise Authorization number.  If under warranty the item will be repaired or replaced and returned to the customer at no charge.  If the item is out of warranty the customer has two options.  They can either order the repair parts and repair the boot themselves, or they can send them in to us for a minimal repair cost (parts, labor and shipping).  Any item that is being sent in to us, whether for repair, inspection or replacement, must have a Return Merchandise Authorization number and must be clean!  Items returned to us that are not clean will be either returned to customer at their cost or the customer will be charged a $10.00 cleaning fee.

Booting Mules

We get calls quite often from customers wondering if our boots will fit on mules.  First, it really depends on the shape of the feet.  Mules with very narrow feet or steep hoof angles may not fit in any of the boots.  Second, we would recommend measuring your mule's hooves.  The measurements will help us to determine which, if any, of the boots would work best for you.  The boots that we find most successful are the Easyboot Epics and the Old Mac's Horse Boots (with inserts if foot is narrow).  We do not recommend the Boa Horse Boots or the Easyboot Bares for mules.
