Owner, Mary Anna Wood and Elmer Bandit, have been a team since his birth on April 8, 1971. Together they have won numerous National Championships, 26 to be exact! Elmer was the first horse to be inducted into the NATRC Hall of Fame.
Elmer Bandit exemplifies the principles of NATRC. Taking care of horses and keeping them healthy is a primary goal. Elmer and Mary Anna work as a team and he trusts her. He performs better for her than anyone else due to this trust. Elmer Bandit has inspired many horse owners and lovers around the world to care for their partners and re-evaluate the traditional perceptions of age. To those who compete, the magnitude of 20,720 miles truly is amazing! Read more about Elmer Bandit in the Winter 2009 issue of Hoof Print, where Marsha Hayes has written an article about this team. Hoorah to Elmer and Anna....may you add many more miles to your tally!
