Mystic Vision and Epics

Mystic Vision with his boots 001

Here is a customer testimonial about another happy horse!  This was sent to EasyCare  by Gayle and her horse Mystic Vision in his Easyboot Epics. Gayle is especially thankful for her wonderful trimmer - Pat Burton from Hoof Pros who suggested EasyCare hoofboots instead of shoes.  Thank you Gayle and Pat!Mystic Vision with his boots 002

"Pat has been our farrier for about 16 years.  He was first recommended to us by our veterinarian when my daughter's 10 year old show gelding foundered.  Pat put heart bar shoes on him and kept him showing and going for 14 more years.  Taj's life and usefulness was greatly extended by Pat's care.  We recently had a stallion founder and Pat came to the rescue, this time with pads, boots and sole spray.  Even though the gelding did very well with shoes, the boots and pads are a dramatic improvement.  I had to make sure I had bute on hand every time Taj was shod to ease the pain of pounding on his feet.  The stallion is not subjected to that painful procedure.  There was a dramatic improvement after the first week of being treated with the boots as he progressed from nearly crawling to walking soundly, barefooted.  After only a few more months of treatment, he now trots, canters, bucks, and kicks like he used to - only barefooted!  We are all most appreciative, especially Mystic Vision, and consider it a privilege to have Pat care for our horses."

Sunny trusts his Easyboot Epics!

Sunny and Dawn trotting in the Brandywine Creek in Epics (Medium) Hoof Care Practitioner Dawn Willoughby of 4 Sweet Feet in Wilmington, DE sent us these great pictures from a recent ride through Brandywine Creek with her Thoroughbred rescue Sunny.  He's seen here sporting Easyboot Epics with 12mm firm comfort pads.

She says, "The Brandywine Creek, which actually can get quite deep and   wide, runs through my riding area.  We criss-cross at many spots.  One area Sunny flirting with Tessa (Medium) which is about 10 city blocks has sand or tiny rocks so we can trot without fear of the horse tripping on a big rock."  Dawn is currently pursuing trips abroad to further educate others on barefoot hoof care.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us Dawn!

Pete loves his Old Mac G2's and Easyboot Epics!

P9270042 My wife Brenda and I added "Pete" a 16 year old Appy to our family in November 2008. He had probably been in shoes all his life as evidenced by his small hooves. They were really contracted at the heal as well as the walls.

Within a week of getting Pete home he dropped a shoe and that allowed us to get started on his transition to barefoot. We contacted High Desert Hoof Care's, Leslie Carrig and she pulled the remaining shoes off Pete's hooves. She commented on how small his hooves were and how it was going to be a long process to get his hooves anywhere near normal.

Pete was very tender, especially in the front feet, so Leslie fitted Pete with a pair of Old Mac G2's. She is a master fitter and has a truck load or all types of EasyBoots on her truck.  When she left Pete was sporting the new Old Mac G2's with pads inside and was walking nicely.

During this past 10 months, Leslie has come to our house every 4 weeks to trim and check on Pete (and our other 2 horses). Pete's hooves are now spreading and have almost grown all new hoof. We ride in EasyBoot Epic's with pads now and we are looking forward to Fall and Winter riding.

By this time next year Pete should have grown out an all new hoof again and with the help of EasyCare we will ride anywhere and on any terrain you throw at us.

Thanks EasyCare and High Desert Hoof Care!

This photo is Pete and I at Washoe Lake in Nevada. Pete is wearing his EasyBoot Epic's.

Customer Testimonial - Easyboot RX

ManulaVolk1_thumb2

The grip of the new Easyboot RX is fantastic!  Maybe you should try the Glove with the softer mixture of the RX tread, as it would fit the flexibility of the Glove.  I love the RX, look how my horse moves around in them!

Testimonial for Easyboot Gloves and Epics

Diane Bowman of Trinity, North Carolina sent us this great testimonial about her experience with using Easyboot Gloves and Easyboot Epics on a recent ride.

" Just got back from 4 days of riding in the mountains of Virginia, at Mt. Rogers. Tried out the new Gloves on the hind feet of my horse and had my regular Epics on the front. Both styles worked wonderfully. We were riding in horrendous mud, as it had been raining, and terrible rocks, and the horses did great. My friend had regular Epics on her horse. I feel we really put the boots to the test with all the mud and rocks. We are just regular trail riders, not endurance, so maybe this wasn't that big of a test for the boots, but I can't say enough about how pleased we were. I have been using the boots for about 6 years and have always been pleased and my horse has remained comfortable and sound. Thank you EasyCare for these wonderful products."

Easyboot Gloves on the Wagon Train

Zoe n Me pullin up the rear These pictures were sent in by Kelley Jo Locke, she and her dad, Danny have been riding for 16 years with the Mader Method Wagon Train.  Here's what they have to say about the EasyCare Glove.

"Check out Zoe in her kick'n new Glove boots!  We loved them.  They really kept those tiny rocks from invading her wall separation.  Of course my goal is to not have any wall separation at all, but until then the boots are a real life saver.  Some of the guys in the wagon train are really old school cowboys and they were all really watching these boots, seeing how long it took to boot her up, if they would even stay on, and if they rubbed her raw or caused her to trip at all.  I am very proud of my dad for being the first one not to have his mules and horses shod for the ride."  Dad Zoe Boots

We will be riding this Tuesday with the Hispanic Water Coalition in the "Walk for Water" from Mendota to San Luis Reservior and I will try to get Zoe with her boots on national TV!  Look for us...

Boa Boots to the Rescue

Foot.sierra2

My mare picked up a LONG nail, almost 4 inches...and she was never lame. But, we ended up taking her to the Arizona Equine Hospital in Gilbert, AZ. Here's the x-rays of her foot. The nail was in the groove of the frog and totally buried in there. It was basically sticking out against the skin in her pastern. The first vet had us remove the nail which was the wrong thing to do. If this happens to you, LEAVE the nail in there, get the horse to a vet and have it x-rayed so they can see the path. It was diffcult to totally see the final path on my horse because the heel bulb had blown out at this point.

I had to keep a bandage on the hoof for two weeks after the vet cut out the hoof where the nail had gone. I used a "one size too big" Boa boot and a  diaper along with a small amount of vet tape around the pastern so the boot wouldn't rub. I found using the Boa was great as it was easy to get on over the diaper, she never got any rub sores at all and never lost the diaper. Here she is two months later on a trail ride at the North Rim ( Grand Canyon ) wearing her Easyboot Epics. Didn't have a lame step and was glad to be out and about again (so was I)! I don't know where I'd be without my Epics and Boas.

Amiee and Pi Love Their EasyCare Hoof Boots!

Derby July 19 09 018 (Medium) Pi (13 year old Appendix) has been barefoot for about 5 years now and he loves his Easyboots!  We've been using Bares since we initially pulled his shoes and he hacks out on the trails like a champ... whether it's on the rocky trails around us in Massachusetts or climbing the forever up-and-down beautiful hills of Vermont or moving right along on a hunter pace.  We are often asked by other riders what his boots are for, and my answer is often quickly followed up with, 'Isn't he too big to go barefoot?'  Pi doesn't think so!

Lately we've been doing a lot more jumping and with all the rain in the Northeast this Spring, I realized Pi would benefit from a bit more traction, especially when we're soaring over fences in a field.  I decided to try the Grips and we haven't looked back!  They grab the ground and provide us with a secure landing without sticking too much -- and Pi loves them.

Thanks for helping us keep on jumping barefoot -- despite the weather!

Customer Testimonial - Easyboot Edge

The following is a customer testimonial sent to High Performance Hooves, one of our Hoof Care Provider dealers located in Stevensville, MT.  They passed this along to us here at EasyCare! The customer is Barb Garten from Hamilton, MT.  She is pictured below with her horse Chester wearing Easyboot Edges.

"I just returned this evening from a five day camping trip into the Bob at Benchmark and Swift Reservoir west of Dupuyer - almost to East Glacier.  I LOVE the Easyboot Edge.  I was up and down steep canyons and rock ledges and the boots performed excellently-they are a breeze to put on - so much easier than any before.  Very clever design, so you may want to invest in a pair.  They are wonderful!  Beautiful trip."

Customer Testimonial - Old Mac's

May 25, 2009 016

My horse has always been really sensitive on gravel trails and rocks.  His hooves are very flat and sharp rocks jab into his soles.  Replacing iron shoes every six weeks is too expensive and he often throws them.  I found the EasyCare website and his wide feet measured perfectly into the Old Mac's.  The first time I put them on him he was a completely different horse, so much happier!  Also, they noticeably improved his traction on the trails.  I love these boots, I would recommend them for anyone with any of these issues.  They fit my horse great and he's walkin around on the gravel like a champ! =).  Thanks for your help.May 25, 2009 002

"Here is a picture of our show jumper in his Easyboot Grips.  He is a rehab that we are working on bringing sound again.  This is his first show with his Easyboots on.  It went very well, even encountered some rain and mud.  Not so much as a slip.  We will be getting a pair for our other jumper," says Trudi.

Easyboot Glove Fit Kit Testimonial

" I ordered the Fit Kit for the Gloves and I am very glad I did. Ended up using a smaller size than I expected. I placed an order for 2 pairs of Gloves and so far, so good. After some more on trail testing, will be placing another order.

The Fit Kit was mailed back to you yesterday, 5/6. Thanks so much for this wonderful boot and the chance to try on different sizes without hassle."

Thanks again,

Easyboot Epic Boots Save the Race

Testimonial from Janis Rochon of Kirkland, Washington......

"This year I drove from Seattle to experience my first XP ride, the Cuyama Oaks in California. I was excited about riding all 3 days, but on day one, my horse lost a shoe at the half way point. I tried to continue at a slower pace, but my horse's foot got really sore so I pulled him. I was disappointed that I had driven over 1000 miles to only ride 30 miles.

Back at camp, Dave Rabe, who I had never met, heard of my plight and loaned me a pair of Easyboot Epics. He assured me they would stay on and I would be able to ride day 2 and 3. I was skeptical, but the boots did not let me down and we completed 50 miles on day 2 and 3.

Easyboot Epics really came through for me; I would highly recommend them!"

EasyCare is very happy that our product saved your ride, and allowed you and your horse to finish the ride! Thank you Janis for your testimonial.

The Easyboot Glove Performs Well in Mud!

Found this on one of the horse group forums.........

"Went to the Eagle Ranch ride in MO this weekend. It was TOUGH! I've done this ride before and do not remember it being that tough. I think the mud and being on new horses is the reason for that. At one point, up to our bellie in muck. Opted not to ride Sunday for fear of injury to the FEI horse......the gentleman I was riding with had Gloves on his horse on all 4 and am I impressed with those. I lost a shoe, but that mud sucking, bog binding mud did not suck a boot off after that many hours in the muck."

Here is more testament that with the correct snug fit, the Easyboot Glove will stay put in these muddy conditions. Make your trails Happy.....put some Gloves on your horse!!!!!

Boa's and Epics..Making Magic's Life Easier

Magic1                            I bought Magic (a Tennessee Walker) in May 2007 as a "shod" 12 year old horse.  In the fall of 2007 I decided to try  my shot at transitioning him to become barefoot.  At first I just rode him barefoot on softer trails, avoiding the rockier locations.  Since that was limiting, I began with the Easyboots in the spring of 2008.  I quickly fell in love with the boots.  I could ride ANYWHERE and still have a barefoot horse.  I started with the Boa boots because I was chicken that I couldn't manage the Epics...used the Boas till end of summer 2007, then got brave and tried the Epics.....love them all!  Now after a full year of first Boas, then Epics, Magic has become tougher and I can ride him barefoot on many trails in my area.  Knowing I can slip the boots on whenever in doubt, makes this ongoing process a breeze.

Magic3

Magicboa2

I now have a pair of Easyboot Grips also, which I love in this muddy spring riding season. Whether downhill, uphill or just plain sloshing through a mucky section, the Grips just hang in there, giving Magic firm footing and me peace of mind.  It's unbelievable to see that none of these boots have ever come off.  Some rides we have been through so much mud, I can't even see the boots!!  After digging the mud off, there they are!

Magicboa1

I am now working on riding Magic barefoot, even more frequently, entering into our second year without shoes.  Thank you so much EasyCare for a great product and the services you offer!!  Recently I sent an Epic in to have a new cable put on.  In less than a week, I received the repaired boot!  I am planning on graduating to the new Easyboot Gloves..whenever my Epics wear out.  Might be awhile though, because these are TOUGH boots!  I guess that's the price you pay for making a durable product.

Customer Testimonial - Isabel Cross Country in Epics

Below is a customer testimonial sent in by the horse's trimmer Jennifer Reinke, an EasyCare dealer and one of our Hoof Care Providers located in El Sequndo, CA.

Jumping at moorpark - january

Here are pictures of Isabel and her rider Caitlin having some fun and doing some cross country training at The Meadows in Moorpark, CA.

Isabel had Easyboot Epics on her front feet and was galloping up and down hills, in and out of water and over jumps.  She has had her Epics for about a year and has been using them on trail.  This was the first time she jumped with her Epics, her prior jumps had been in a ring barefoot.

Gloves and Grips Working Together

Take a look at these great shots of the Glove Boots in Action. These words and pictures come from Ann Szolas (Barefoot HoofCare) and her horse Cory wearing Grip Boots in the front and Gloves in the back. It really was impressive to Ann to see that they stayed on his super narrow hind feet, the  boots were great through the whole ride!

I love those Gloves!  I can't believe how great they stay on in all kinds of awful stuff.  I have raced, crossed a river with a sinky bottom, scrambled out of the same river up a 3 foot vertical silty climb, sunk halfway to his hocks in soft dirt with roots in it, gone through mud and just plain really rough trails.  I have never lost one and only had one get a little twisted once.  I do get mud shoved under one side of the "V" sometimes but it is no trouble.  I LOVE the traction!  It's almost as good as new Grips which I have been using on the fronts.  Can't wait to get my Edges for the fronts! Thank You Ann, EasyCare  thanks you for your great feedback! Happy Trails!

EasyCare Epic Boots for Daatje, the Friesian Mare

Easycare daatje head  Daatje is an 8 year old Friesian mare whom I've owned since she was six months old. It has always been important to me to keep my horses barefoot as I like the way their hooves respond to being kept naturally.

As Daatje matured and her work load increased, I was faced with the decision to shoe or boot. Her hooves are tough, but the amount of riding I was doing was wearing them down much faster than they could grow back!

I tried several of EasyCare Inc's boots (Boa, Old Mac G2, Easyboot) before settling on the Epic as the boot that best performed for our type of work and her hoof shape.

I use them most for foxhunting and conditioning on the road. The benefit of reduced wear on my horse's hooves is combined with their unique shock absorbing properties! Especially when using your EVA foam pads, which I absolutely love.

Once I got the fit perfected, the Epics have performed with outstanding reliability and I am thrilled to have a high performance boot as an alternative to shoes! :)

Sarah Isherwood

PS: As much as I like the Epics, I'm still dying to try the Gloves. :)

Testimonial - Babe's Boots

My name is Heather Williams and my handsome horse is Babe's Jubilee, a 15-year old registered Spotted Saddle Horse.  The photographer was my loving fiance Jeffrey Rigby who walked/ran the entire length of the 12 mile competition trail to journal our participation.  Babe wears Old Mac G2's with the firm support comfort and frog pads with pastern wraps.

H Williams Babe Crystal Crown Judged Trail Ride VA 11 08These photos were taken during our participation in the Nokesville Horse Society's Crystal Crown Series Judged Trail Competition on November 2nd, 2008.  The location of the competition was at the beautiful Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane, VA.  We had a blast in the competition and told everyone about the benefits of EasyCare products.  We are training for our first 25 mile endurance competition in Spring '09 which we will be running in our Old Mac G2's as well.

Testimonial - Scooter and his Bares

This testimonial was sent in from one of our natural hoof trimmers in Sedalia, CO.  She and Scooter love their Bares!

Scooter and I went to the Parelli Center in Pagosa Springs, CO last September for a Fluidity Riding course.  We're still developing our partnership, so I had great plans for our time there.  Since I'm a natural trimmer and an EasyCare dealer, I couldn't help but notice many of the other horses were also barefoot and the rows between the pens were lined with carrot sticks, fly spray and a variety of EasyCare boots.Gail002

Scooter has a set of Bare boots for all 4 feet that I use while riding in extremely rocky terrain.  I didn't expect to need Scooter's boots since the Parelli grounds are pasture, hard packed dirt and deep sandy play areas.  But from the first day on, Scooter was tender on the dirt roads.  I didn't expect this since we ride on hard pack all the time.  I was so relieved to have his Bare boots with me since they allowed us to participate in all activities without discomfort.  I realized afterward that Scooter was suffering from stress induced laminitis, a common occurrence with hauling and boarding horses in new environments.  The evidence emerged a few weeks later in the form of a horizontal "event ring" descending from the cornet band around both front hooves.  This is a indicative of a laminitic episode.

Scooter wore his Bare boots on both fronts, all day, every day without exception.  They are a perfect fit and the tread pattern worked well on the Colorado trails.  There was never any evidence of rubbing and no sign of lameness, as long as the boots were on.Gail016

Our two weeks at the Parelli Center was the horse experience of a lifetime.  Some of the moments were captured by Parelli professional photographer, Coco.  The photos came out great since Scooter and I always seemed to be smiling.  Thank you EasyCare for Scooter's Bare boots and comfort pads!

Gail Snyder

Alaska's Grasshopper

Energy2 (3) Here he is, the most beautiful Friesian/Lippizan ever seen at EasyCare.

He sports the famous Boa Boots and they look great on him. Grasshopper and his owner Frieda Koper hail from the great north. Here is Frieda's story:

Grasshopper and I live in Anchorage, Alaska. I have spent my entire life living on the same 2 acres of land in this ever growing community. We are blessed. We have the best of both worlds, the beauty of this state is just outside our back door and yet the city is only minutes out our front door. Grasshopper is my love, he is half Friesian, half Lipizzan. He is the best of both worlds, smart, athletic and a ton of personality. Because his feet are so strong, I keep him barefoot all year round. Living in Alaska means embracing the outdoors, and that meant finding an alternative to ice shoes. The standard borium studs terrified me. Grasshopper is not a small boy, he is a power house and with one wrong move he could slice a leg, so we decided to try Boa Boots. The studs are great on ice, they dig in and allow us to cross roads, creeks and trails that we other wise would never be able to venture across. The gaiters do a magnificent job of protecting the bulbs of his heels and keeping a majority of the snow out. Without the gaiters I would not be able to ride in the snow. We found the snow packed in and caused his heels to bleed. I only did that once! The replacement parts have been a wallet saver. The laces are easy to replace. Should a stud come loose and fall out, we can easily replace them. After  years of HARD use my Boa boots are still holding up.

Peace from the North

Thank You Frieda and Grasshopper, many safe and Happy Trails to you from EasyCare.

"These Boots (Old Mac's) Are Made For Walkin"

Stormyshoes1 The Old Mac's are the best boots I've tried!  We have yet to go on a really tough ride, but so far, these boots really are made for walking.  They have not slipped, fallen off, been stepped off or caused any pain for my gelding.  He is so happy to go out and ride now.  Rocks are no longer a problem for him.  He is a horse who has been foundered in the past that has left him sound, but tender footed.  These boots have made both my husband and I very happy to take him out riding.  We no longer worry about the horse hurting himself trying to avoid things he thinks will hurt his feet.  I will be ordering a pair for my mare so I can have that extra peace of mind about her hooves too.  Thank you so much for such a wonderful product.
