Easyboot Glove test boots will be going out to Team Easyboot members very soon. I have a small stash that I have been personally testing and sending to people for feedback.
I recently sent a pair to Duncan McLaughlin down in Australia. I respect the heck out of Duncan's horsemanship and value his feedback. Duncan has e-mailed boot ideas and suggestions over the years and can be credited for some of the push to lighter more streamline boots. Check out Duncan's photos and short message below.
"Hi Garrett, had another day testing the EasyBoot Glove. Love the fit, love the lightness, all the benefits of bare with the protection of a boot. The other riders in my group, mostly boot users, were all impressed too!"
Nice action shots, Dunc!!
Good to see Ginge is still the little dynamo. Did you use pads in the Gloves?
How was traction on the loose rocky going?
Jenny
PS like the tan, too!! Full time trimming must be agreeing with you :-)

Hi Duncam,
did you still glue them or just rely on the gaiter?
Posted by: Kylie | December 18, 2008 at 05:29 PM
Kylie- The Easyboot Glove is the Easyboot Glue-On shell with the gaiter attached. No glue is used when riding in the Easyboot Glove.
I'm 100% certain that Duncan didn't use glue when using the Easyboot Glove.

I was one of the people who rode with Duncan. He did not have pads in the glove & they were not glued on. We rode over some really varied terrain up to some really hard underfoot areas as the photo illustrates. I am really excited about the new hoof protection & think it will make even the shod purists turn their heads & maybe even get the shoes off their horses hooves to give barefoot a go. I think it will really bolster the charge in endurance & we will see a lot more barefoot/booted horses in the top end of the fields & winning circle. I love the ease of application & removal of the Glove Boot - it is also a much lighter boot than the bares. Simple & easy to apply - this will only encourage horse owners to use the boots. I know that a lot of my clients whom I trimmed for - this was one of their biggest issues - expecially the bares as a tight fit was paramount for the boot to be successful. In turn the tight boot was an issue for those people to get onto their horses hooves. I think that this then resulted in people going to a larger size which was easier to put on but created the problem of rubs etc. I look forward to riding my horses in the new boots next year & beyond. Exciting times.

Louise- Thanks for the note!
I've followed your endurance results over the past couple years and have heard great things about you from others in the Aussi horse world. I can't wait to get some boots to you so you don't need to steal Duncan's. We will have good quantities by the first week of January.
I'm excited about the Glove. It's the first boot that doesn't have me laying awake at night trying to fix a small flaw. This boot is a huge step forward. As you experienced it's easy to apply/remove and stays in place.
It not only works better than any horse boot on the market but will retail in the USA at $55.00 per boot. Hard to justify an $85.00 boot when a $55.00 boot works better.
I would like to send you a box of Easyboot Gloves (multiple sizes) in early January. Try them on your own horses and have your clients use them. I believe the more you use them the better you will like them.
I want to see you and your horse win the Quilty in them!
Send me your feedback.

Hi all
Great to see photos of Ginge again Dunc, you are looking pretty fit too, and ready for the 2009 endurance season?
Such good news that these new boots will be available soon. Many of Rob's clients have been waiting impatiently for either the Edge or Glove and pester us constantly for news. Rob is my super dooper barefoot trimmer other half. I'm looking forward to trialling them with Sqiggle, my sensational endurance horse.
Regards
Carol

Carol- Just got notice that the next shipment is on the way. I'll have them Monday or Tuesday. I'm make sure you and Rob get some to try on your personal and clients horses soon.
In my opinion there is no comparison between the Glove and the Edge. The Glove is far superior in every area. Lighter, better fitting, easier to apply and stays on better.
I send them soon. Let me kn ow if you agree.

Thanks Garret, i am undecided (think i am getting the glue ons to test though and have preordered the edge and glove with my supplier) but think my boy goes best with dome pads added.... in the glove can pads be added or does it alter to much how the boot hugs the hoof wall?
Thanks again and have a great xmas :)

Kylie- I would get the Glove for sure. I don't think you will have any problems using a dome pad inside a Glove, especially a dome pad that is slightly worn in.
I'll do some riding in a pair of the weekend with Dome pads and let you know.
Happy Holidays!

Garrett - I am excited to try the new Easyboot Gloves. I wonder how they do in snow? What are the treads like? I live in central Illinois so we have plenty of the white stuff right now. When will Team EasyBoot members get to try these out? I look forward to your sizing chart. My horse wears a size 2 Epic. We do a lot of trail riding on some rough trails. Most of the time my horse is barefoot and only needs the boots for rocky terrain, like in the Shawnee Forrest in Southern Illinois. Cindy Evans, Danvers, IL.

Garrett - We would be delighted to try the Gloves or Edges but yes, the Glove boots would be terrific for many of our clients. Once again thankyou for your generosity.
Merry Christmas everyone.
