We started to get a bit of a crowd when we were fitting boots on Dave, Terri and Natalie's horses. People were very pleased with the new design and loved how easy they were to apply. Lot's of questions on when they could get the new boots and how to measure. As we talked more horses started showing up. They wanted me to fit their horses so they knew the proper size when the boots became available.
One of the horses that came over to be fit was with Laurie Birch of Rosamond California. Laurie had purchased a nice looking arab mare named Scudd Run "Taz" from Global Endurance. The mare had nice looking barefoot feet that have been maintained by a good barefoot trimmer somewhere. Laurie wanted me to fit the horse with the Easyboot Glove for future size reference. The mare took #0 Easyboot Gloves front and back. The boots were a perfect fit.
I had some extra boots and decided to just give the boots to Laurie. I cautioned Laurie about trying something new at an event without trying them first in training. With that said, we both agreed they were an awesome fit and she should use the boots on the first 55 mile day.
A couple minutes after Laurie finished I walked over to see how the horse and the boots performed. Laurie had just removed one of the boots and was looking at it when I arrived. She pointed to the boots in disbelief as she showed me the lack of sand or dirt in the boots. "We trotted through miles of sandy washes and I just can't believe how well the boots worked". "I put them on so easy this morning before the ride." She was so happy!
Laurie's success made my trip! She's gonna forward a full update after four days.
