I've had the opportunity to put more test miles on the Easyboot Glove fitted with the Power Strap. The Power Strap adds to the performance of the Easyboot Glove and makes the boot fit very snug and makes sizing more forgiving. I recently did a hard, fast ride on a horse that is very hard on back boots. The slim design of the Power Strap keeps them out of harms way and eliminates interference caused by additional width.
I've added some photos of the Power Straps after several conditioning rides. They are holding up well and enhance the performance of the Glove.
Have you tried the Power Strap without the gaiter?

Is the Power Strap for sale yet? I don't see it as a product listed.
Thanks, Michelle

Power Straps are not for sale yet. Still testing and working on some molds. They are working great though and make a Glove fit even better.
They should be available soon.

How did you come to realise that the Glove needed a "power strap" and how do they make the glove fit better?

Anne- The original Glove mold had the recessed areas to add a front strap from the start. When we designed the boot I thought it would eventually need a front buckle or strap. But early testing showed how well the Glove worked without a buckle or strap. The lack of buckle simplified the design and helped reduce weight.
The Power Strap is the lowest profile strap design that I have managed to find. The Power Strap makes the boot fit tighter and makes fit on the "odd" shape foot much better. It essentially allows for more error in the fit.
Hope that helps.

I too would like to know... have you tried the Power Strap without the gaiter?

Yes. It keeps a non gaitered, non glue-on shell on the hoof but as soon as the horse does anything athletic the boots don't stay in place. The torque and power of a 1,000 lb horse is just to massive.

We have just received and tried out the Easy boot Gloves with gaiters on our 5 year old stallion, Flying Circus Ringmaster. Jenny Moncur was instrumental in helping me decide to go down this path and Rebecca Scott came down and assessed Ringo for effective barefoot trimming and fitted him for his boots. He has previously been bare all his life with no problems but when he went for his first 15km ride in the gloves he moved up a gear. He moved like a hover craft and it was breathtaking to watch him cover the ground.
I think we are converts!

Jen- Thanks for the comment. Jenny and Rebecca are awesome. The have been great ambassadors for both natural hoof care and EasyCare hoof boots.
I'm stoked the boots turned your horse into a hover craft. It's a perfect analogy.

We have had our set of 4 x Gloves for our young stallion Ringmaster for 4 months now. He continues to train barefoot and wore his boots in the four endurance training rides he has done since getting them. Rides were all 40km (25 miles for non metric!)After the last event, which had some pretty stony ground, one rear boot has developed a hole about the size of finger tip in the centre front, down low. There is also evidence of scuffing on the lower third of the front of each rear boot.
2 questions if I may:
Is this common?
Is there anything I can glue over the area to add some extra resistance and if so what adhesive could I use?
Would be appreciative of any input.
Thank you,
