This also works for fitting EasyCare Dome Comfort Pads into other EasyCare hoof boots and should go very well in Old Mac G2's; they will also fit with trimming into original Old Mac's, Boa Horse Boots, and EasySoakers. These pads may work in other manufacturers boots too, like Cavallo's Simple Boot, or Davis Soaking boot, possibly a Marquis hoof boot - if there are any others, let me know. These dome comfort pads will soon be available in a size 1 which will fit the most common size Easyboot. Easyboot sizing is the same for regular Easyboots, Epics, Bares, Grips and the Custom boot. More information on pad sizing can be found at the bottom fo this post.
TEN TIPS FOR CUSTOMIZING DOME COMFORT PAD FIT INTO AN EASYBOOT, EPIC, BARE, GRIP, OR CUSTOM EASYBOOT
1. Get the boot that you wish to fit the pad into, along with the dome comfort pad. Also get an ink pen and a pair of good scissors.
2. Place the flat side (bottom) of the pad to the bottom of the boot so that both flat sides are facing each other. Align the toe towards the front center of the pad.
3. Use an ink pen to trace around the edge of the boot.
4. Remove the boot and make sure you can see the tracing all the way around.
5. Take a pair of scissors and cut right on the line all the way around. By keepin the toe of the pad and the toe of the boot flush in the front you'll now be trimming the pad so that the majority of the dome shape will fall in the concave part of your horses hoof.
6. This shows the pad after it has been cut down. This is a size large dome comfort pad. I am trimming it down to fit into a size 1.
7. Fold the pad in half, like a taco. (hint: don't eat it without lots of salsa, you could choke!) ;)
8. With the pad folded (like a taco) insert it into the boot - the toe of the pad into the toe of the boot.
9. Push all the way into the front of the boot, and allow to flatten out. It should be a fairly snug fit.
10. if necessary, use your fingers or a hoofpick or other tool to push the edges down snug. You want it to be good and tight. Push down well around the heelstrap. You may need to do some additional trimming of the pad depending upon how your pad fits against the heelstrap.

Hi there,
I see that you are using the dome pads in your G2's. This is what I would like to try but the Easy Care reps said a better option is the comfort pads. What is the trouble with using the dome pads in the G2's?
