Sorry for the delay in my introduction. I have been reading the posts, just haven't had the time to post yet. I am a natural trimmer. I lean towards the Pete Ramey method, but I do my own thing as I observe more and more hooves. I own a 22 month old red dun frame overo APHA filly and am leasing a 12 year old red roan QH gelding. I use to show in the arabian circuit and have a soft spot for arabs. The only time I have ever used boots is on my percheron/QH gelding that foundered last summer. So far, with one exception, all the horses I have transitioned to barefoot haven't needed boots. The one exception, the owner wanted boots but wasn't very interested in her horses hoof care so I no longer trim for her. The reason I wanted to become a member of Team Easy Boot is because there is a close relationship between barefoot and boots. Most people that consider transitioning to barefoot don't like not being able to ride while the hoof is healing, but think boots are clumsy and hard to use. I want to show them that the new boots are improved, thus encouraging them to transition. I have several hoof pictures on the website superhoof.org under screenname TAPremium. The pictures below are of me and my filly at 2 shows last summer. Unfortunately I have to sell her due to lack of time. I currently work full time and go to school full time.
By the way, my name is Kimber Thompson.
