I tried my glove boots on the back of my TWH this past weekend and was very pleased at how well they did. I have been using and loving the Gloves on my horses front feet, but was worried about how they would do on the back feet since he twists his back feet when he gaits. I had heard from others with gaited horses that they had had problems with the Gloves coming off the hind feet, so I packed a set of bares, just in case.
We started out on the trail, went through creeks, sand, woods, fields and mud and never had a problem. The ride was 17 miles with a lunch stop and we completed it in 4 hours, so I would say my horse was gaiting most of the time. I am planning on getting some of the power straps to take up a little bit on the slack on his back feet, but I love the way they performed.
By the way the other 2 horses I was riding with also had boots on and when we stopped for lunch several people wanted to know all about the boots and the horses. Boots make both me and my horses happy!
I have been using Easy Boot Glove with the gator since March of 2010 (7 months). I am NOT please with it's performance at all. If I go anything faster than a walk they will come off and I have had my barefoot trimmer fit them to my horse. The gators keep ripping! I do ALOT of riding! I ride alot of rough trails and if I want to run up a hill by the time I get to the top the boots have come off! I have several friends who are having the same situation. What do you suggest?

Cathy I am surprised you are having such a problem with your Gloves, I have been using them since they came out and love them. Are you sure that your boots fit properly (like a glove, no pun intended)?
I am riding gaited horses that "twist" in the back and don't have problems with them coming off. I too ride in the mountians, through mud and creeks, on roads and flat fields. You might want to get someone else to check the fit for you or your horse may have to use another type.
Good luck and good riding,
Donna
